About the Restoration
This restoration of A Dumb Romeo is based on the combination of two unique sources: a 35mm nitrate print preserved at the Library of Congress and a 16mm print in the collection of Richard M. Roberts. Digital image restoration tools were used to reduce the appearance of physical damage that accumulated over the life of the original materials. This restoration was completed in October 2023 by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival in cooperation with the Library of Congress, Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation.
