Live music by Wayne Barker
Director
John L. McCutcheon
Cast
Norma Shearer, Maurice Costello, Gladys Leslie, Robert Elliott

After the death of his wife Dora (a young Norma Shearer) in a hotel fire, Dr. Howard Fleming falls in love and marries Dolly, who turns out to be Dora’s sister! But Dora’s not really dead, only insane! And there’s more plot to come!

Man and Wife will be preceded by the short film:
The Great Love of a Little Dancer
(Die grosse Liebe einer kleinen Tänzerin)
Directed by Alfred Zeisler, Viktor Abel | Germany, 1924 | 21 m.
This beautiful animated short was produced in partnership with the celebrated Schwiegerling family of puppeteers, perhaps the last remaining example of their magical Marionette Theater.
Live music by Will Lewis

Man and Wife has been preserved by UCLA Film & Television Archive with funding provided by the National Film Preservation Foundation.

The Great Love of a Little Dancer was digitally restored in 4K using the only surviving nitrate print preserved in the Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum collection.
