Festival 2010

July 15 - 18, 2010 at the Castro Theatre

The Program

At SFSFF 2010 we presented 17 exceptional silent film programs, opening with John Ford’s The Iron Horse and closing with Serge Nadjedine’s L’Heureuse Mort, with much to admire in between! Pixar’s Pete Docter selected the comedy gems for The Big Business of Short, Funny Films, and the latest Metropolis restoration thrilled the crowd on Friday evening! The 2010 SFSFF Award was presented to Photoplay Productions.

The Musicians

Without our incredible musicians the silent festival would be just that – silent! SFSFF 2010 welcomed the following wonderful silent film accompanists to the Castro Theatre – Alloy Orchestra, Stephen Horne, Dennis James, Matti Bye Ensemble, Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra, and Donald Sosin.
