Festival 2014
About
SFSFF 2014 included films from seven countries—Britain, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, the US and USSR—over its four-day span. The SFSFF 2014 Award went to the British Film Institute which was presented to BFI curator Bryony Dixon. Amazing Tales presenters included Dixon, Dan Streible, and Craig Baron and Ben Burtt.

The Musicians
Musicians at SFSFF 2014 included Frank Bockius and Guenter Buchwald from Germany, Serge Bromberg from France, Stephen Horne from the UK, Matti Bye Ensemble from Sweden, and the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra and Donald Sosin from the US.
New SFSFF Restorations
SFSFF’s Preservation Department works on film restoration projects year round, premiering the results on 35mm at our annual festival. At SFSFF 2014 we were thrilled to present our restoration of Allan Dwan’s The Good Bad Man, starring Douglas Fairbanks. This restoration was a collaboration with Cinémathèque Française and the Film Preservation Society.
