We’ve found  a home away from home while the Castro is being renovated, a theater with a sizable movie screen, room to set up musicians, a large number of seats, and a vibrant neighborhood—the Orinda Theatre! The 1941 Art Deco-style Orinda (4 Orinda Theatre Square) is nestled in a lovely village with shops and restaurants, a four-minute walk from the BART station (the Orinda station is the first stop after you leave Oakland eastbound—a 24-minute ride from SF’s Civic Center and a mere eight minutes from MacArthur BART). Plus there’s parking! The Orinda Theatre Square garage (next door to the theatre) has 250 spots. The first hour is free with each additional hour at $6.00 per, daily max is $36. With validation theater patrons get 4 hours free. Please take a picture of your license plate—you’ll need your cell phone number and license plate number for the validation at the theater.
