The Affairs of Anatol
About the Film
The last of the Gloria Swanson silents directed by Cecil B. DeMille is a star-studded gluttonous treat for the eyes, its lavish sets and opulent costumes by DeMille regulars Paul Iribe and Clare West. The New York Times said it gestured when they called it “a magnificent puppet show, legitimately and logistically excessive in every way.”
