Music director and conductor of the Oakland Symphony, Michael Morgan served as artistic director of the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra and music director at the Bear Valley Music Festival and won multiple awards for his compositions. Morgan made his debut apppearance at SFSFF 2016 conducting the San Francisco premiere performance of Adolphus Hailstork’s original score for Within Our Gates, played by Oakland Symphony string musicians and sung by members of the Oakland Symphony Chorus.
