Toychestra is an all-woman experimental music group from Oakland that plays “symphonic miniatures” using toy musical instruments, including tiny pianos, recorders, xylophones, and other noise-makers like jack-in-the-boxes and Fisher-Price See ’n Says. They perform their own compositions as well as interpreting other artists from Dvorák to Black Flag. They have toured Europe several times, playing large concert halls.
